lol.
Well most of the problem is that you'll notice when pc gaming was at its highest peak, you had so many different types of games.
I bet most of us when we look at a WW2 game, we simply roll our eyes and make a sigh. Why? Its been done, done and done. Sure you can reinvent mechanics with WW2 theme but thats like reinventing the wheel over and over again. So getting back to the peak, which was a few years ago, you'll notice alot alot of pc games. Sadly though, at the peak where most gaming studios wanted to take a piece of the cake, they released games half finished. These half ass games were 75% of the market. Clientele is such a funny aspect of business. You only a couple of chances before the bridge is burned. Case scenerio.... SOE + NGE = perfect example?
So you only have a couple chances to please the customer. These games did exactly the opposite. So then the customer will wonder why would they buy these terrible games. Their anger of such a poorly designed game will than transform to the question of why would they buy games like this. They won't and that stereotype of pc games become in doubt. People, let myself will than start to make amends with themselves by going to the way of pirating. Its simply learning the mistakes of buying stupid games. Why would you buy 3 or 4 games that only will lead to maybe one of them being worth it? Its not. Its kinda terrible I know. Thats how it started when internet was just in its infant stages.
Now, its just a unstoppable ball rolling down the hill. No one can stop it especially if technology keeps getting better and better.
I could be blowing smoke by this post because I realized this is just a theory of mine.
