LOL! I remember that too! One of the funnier memories. ;D That house was on Corellia, just outside of Coronet. If I remember right, you'd always try to get your money back, but I knew I'd lose it if I gambled with you again, so I never did! lol

The game was so fun then. You could, and still can, do so much in SWG that you can't in other games. It is too bad things had to happen to the game that us players just couldn't tolerate. If the precu community had stayed the same, if RSF was still in its golden time and most everyone didn't leave, I bet I'd still be playing and still be enjoying it. But I can't know that for sure, it is all speculation now.

Someday maybe we'll all meet back up again in a second, much better, SWG. One made by a company with the balls to not get pushed around completely by LA (somehow, heh). Or, maybe by then LA/SOE will have experimented with SWG enough to do a better job on SWG2. But it doesn't really seem like they have learned from any of their mistakes, does it?

I like the one with you fighting the rancor, and the one in the DWB (I think) with all those bodies around you in a circle lol. And I do love that one in that Mustafar droid factory instance! I sure do miss seeing Xaira kick ass. We'd all be wearing our paddy robes and she'd be sabering things in style hehe. I'm still sad I wasn't there for that run. =(

Oh, those screenies of AH are awesome too. Those AH/Bestine battles were some crazy times! Bunch of noobs clone zerging each other lol. It was moronic that SOE could overlook something as obvious as that, but I'm glad it was like that for a little bit. It was funny to kill someone and then be getting attacked by them again literally 5 seconds later! lol

All these screenshots we've dug up make me want to play again, but I know that the game isn't as fun (for me) as the screenshots make it look. I can completely see how someone just now picking up SWG might love it to death, but those of us who got used to it one way (precu) and then another (cu) really have a hard time enjoying the NGE, especially with 95% of our old buddies gone!

They really need to start making another SW mmo already. Make it in the KOTOR era... or well after the original trilogy, when Jedi are making a big comeback in numbers and boom, perfection.

I bet Jwei knows. I have no faith in the emu, though. I see no way it can ever be as fun as the original. The original was buggy enough, an emu would be buggier with less professionals to fix it and much less people playing to make it worthwhile. But I hope I'm wrong.

Well emu is the only way we well ever get to play again and I know for a fact most if not all of the ohio crew would just back in if it was back to the glory days of the game. I know vik could host a server and I would gladly help him pay for it.

It wouldn't really be a mmo and have that big mmo immersive far-away-other-world-universe-doohiky feeling if it lacked the massively multiplayer part of its name. Lol, That doesn't make much sense. it sucks that like 95% of our friends are gone but its not the first time ive lost friends lol.. i have played CS and lost like 10 friends in there.. then i was playing pre CU and lost about 20 friends there... then i met some cool guys in WoW but quit that to go check out the CU and lost about.. 5 friends in there since i dont talk to many people in WoW... umm.. met you guys in CU and now have lost touch with quite a few, many i dont even remember which is sad to say... now even with the NGE out i make new friends and then lose friends... kind of a never ending cycle but you guys are the only ones i have really kept in touch with this long

As for the swgemu. Its coming along. They are going to base the game on patch 12.1 which is just after the JTL release. As of right now, they are testing out the stress on servers. They've come a long way. When I say the testing of the stress on servers, they are actually trying to fix all those bugs that are related to the server. Remember, Rubber banding? floating away from the chair? stuff like that are which they are trying to fix.

So afterwards they get the stress going, they don't think housing, and crafts will make it to the first official release of the game. Than again, they are thinking about releasing everything all at once but of course it'll be a longer release date.

So they are getting there. But, don't drool just yet, I think it'll take alot more time.

Lol, I had forgotten about the chair thing Jwei. That was always irritating! The emu should be interesting. What are their plans for the multitude of moves that don't work? For many professions, almost *none* of them work. Remember pistoleer's stopping shot? It did nothing remotely close to its description. In fact, all it did was damage, and that is all it was used for. Oddly enough it was the 2nd highest pistol damage move. The first was Smuggler's last ditch.

The devs never fixed the moves. They were busy with things like clone zerging, the chairs/rubber banding, jebi, etc. Instead of fixing things they revamped all the professions with the CU. So my question is, how are the emu fellas going to possibly fix the moves if they never worked in the first place? It was broken then. If the emu is to not be broken, the makers of it are going to have to design it to their liking, which is what bothers me. Who knows what they'll do.

As for friends, you are right Lez. I've made/lost many as well, but I am still in touch with most of the original core of friends I made in SWG, my first mmo. We just don't all play the same game.

I have found that I don't make new friends in these games nearly as easily as I used to. I'm reluctant to now, I suppose. I must be tired of losing them! heh

The ole' balancing question.

Your not the only one to have addressed the issue. Luckily this quest has been answered many times.

It all depends on the server owner. Or the team who owns the server. All that stuff will be done by the admins. So whoever wants to run a server will be able to balance which ever they want. You want musicians to do highest damage? Done. You want Jedi's to be the only one to use rifles? done. I hope you get the point.

Balancing will all lie on the admins.

Well, well, first off "HI". how is everyone doin? Sorry aint been around in a while. Been really busy with my new buisness. For those of you that dont know i bought a bar. Called it the "Sud's".
Anyhow, If someone set up a emu server i would play in a heart beat. I would also Help and pay for it. I beleave if it is set up right and people are not givin permission to just get everything and are made to grind just like in pre-Cu, i think alot of people ( if they are told about it ) would join. But from what i remember didnt Perplex set up a server.
As for SWG aint no way i am going back to that crap. i aint played it since me and mobus tried a different server for a couple days there.

Lol, Yeah, that new server idea didn't get me hooked on the game again either. I think it would still be enjoyable if we got past the extreme lowbie levels, but it is hard to do that when you aren't exactly having fun. We'll prolly never know for sure, though. =P But one thing is more certain. I highly doubt I could enjoy playing on Chilly again. Every time I would get on there I would just lament and wish things were the way they used to be. =/ On Starsider I was actually pretty excited to get piloting up and fly against some of the best (they actually fly on that server...lol!). On Chilly the only thing that got me really excited was to be with old friends, which was rare!

So, erm, what was my point? I don't know lol. You just put me into a ramble, thanks Kin! =P
