I think I am going to try to find a used copy of the jedi academy game, I need some light saber action.

LOL, Ehrgeiz! That is what I started replaying again last night! Those were my thoughts exactly. "I need some Star Wars action. More than that, I need my lightsaber fix!"
And I was just thinking about SWG and how much I miss flyin'. I know, I *know* I'd have fun in that game if we all came back and flew together in those events they have regularly on Starsider (and a few other flyboi servers). I know I'd love that. But that would likely never happen. =/ It is unlikely enough that anyone would go back, let alone fly. Half of us never liked flying. lol
Space is the one part of the game largely unscrewed up by the NGE. If they messed that up too, I would have absolutely zero draw to SWG anymore. So maybe I should hope that they do. =P

i think we'll all enjoy the game once again when they round the professions and throw in a bunch of story driven quests like WoW

I've been reading the Star Wars novel to get my star wars fix.
I'm reading the New Jedi Order series. Balance Point. The one where.... a main character dies from the movies...

i think we'll all enjoy the game once again when they round the professions and throw in a bunch of story driven quests like WoW Heh. How many more years is that going to take? *sigh* Sometimes I really wonder if we'd all enjoy the game if it launched all NGE-style. If it was like that from the beginning, would we like it? Did we hate it because we were used to it being one way and couldn't get used to another, or was/is the NGE really that bad? Eh, it doesn't matter, it is just interesting to think about. I think the NGE was just really that bad when it first came out. But now that things are a lot more fleshed out and polished, it may have pleased our past selves. What I'm saying is: perhaps if, way back in 2003, the game launched as it is right now...we'd all have loved it. Lucky droids. They can get memory wipes. We're stuck with ours. =P

It is hard for those of us who grinded for Jedi to let go of the fact that they stole that hard work from us. Well, not everyone actually spent any time at the computer to become Jedi, but most did. I think the number of Jedi who afk grinded was a minority. And I never got used to seeing Jedi getting owned by commandos. 0_o I see a lightsaber ignite and a Jedi's eyes flare and I expect someone to get sliced in two, not for the Jedi to be turned into a crispy force-sensitive shish kabob. The community is getting great at coming up with explanations, or excuses, for those sort of things. I would rather SOE/LA do it so it is "canon" or whatever, but they must like seeing the players arguing with each other non-stop about the Jedi population and strength. All they need is LA to explain away, in a canonical way, why there are bunches of Jedi and why Yoda was wrong with his "You are the last of the Jedi *gasp for air x10*" speech. It isn't that hard, and in fact no canon has to be changed. Anyway, I got used to the amount of Jedi...just not actually seeing them. There were more Jedi than Yoda/Luke/Obi in that timeline, they just didn't walk around like a Paris Hilton "look at meeee!!" particle effect freak show that the current SWG jedi are. As for their weakness, being only on-par with every other class, that is necessary for balancing issues, but also explainable in a canonical way. Watch how many Jedi died in the battle of Geonosis. Jedi get owned too. By stupid droids, no less! Ignore the books, the video games, etc., the movies show a different picture of Jedi. Strength like Obi-Wan's, Mace Windu's, and Yoda's were exceptions to the rule. They were Jedi Masters. While every Jedi was much stronger than the average sentient, a sentient trained in the arts of war (every character in SWG except for crafters and entertainers, and smugglers LOL) would put up a good fight, because after all, they are no average sentient. They are fighters, warriors, murderers, assassins. Smarter and tougher even than battle droids, who we know can kill Jedi with numbers and aiming protocols alone. Hmm, doesn't look good for your average, Original-Trilogy timeline, likely self-trained master-less Jedi, does it? Too bad SOE had to be assholes and give them the Jedi Master title to confuse the hell out of them. "What? I just got killed by a dude named 'buttkickermommylovesme' after I put my saber through his body 15 times?? How is he still alive to grief me? I thought I was a Jedi Master!?" Well. Um. That wasn't supposed to be a rant. It was supposed to be positive! lol Easier said than done, huh?

We all know the SWG universe is far from the real timeline that is supposed to be based.
I like to think of it as an alternative reality where everything is silly and were actually in inside a "themepark"
Hey kin!
Happy Birthday!

Well let me start by saying if SWG NGE would have come out 3 years ago like it is now i would have to still go with we would have hated it. Reason being is simple 1. NGE is way buggier then pre-cu ever was. Pre-cu had bugs but not at all like NGE does. They still have problems with the combat system. Like AOE damage percentage. Also The rubber band effect is still a issue. They still aint fixed it after all these years. And to be truthfull i dont care what SOE/LA say's, there is now way that this was the original way that they had planed the game to be. Because now it is way to WoW like. 2. there is still not enough content in the game to keep a person interrested in it after so much time. I still say that if they would have just kept adding new content to the game instead of changing the whole damn game they would still have full servers and may have had to add alot more servers. But noooooooooooooooooooo, Lets kill the only game that is different then any other game out there. I mean stop and think about it. SWG pre-Cu was totlly different then any other game that was and is out there. you had 32 different ways to go with your proffession. Jedi were Rare (the only thing i saw that they could have changed on that would have been to make where only certain amount of people on the server could have been jedi at the same time and kept perma death that way if one died someone could take their place) you could drop certains trees in you profession and regrind anouther. There was less lag pre-cu. Annimations were a hell of alot better. Pvp battles lasted forever and where fun. Not like it is now where if one side losses they go hide or run off or loged off for a hour and waited tilll the other side got board and left and they come back to fight knowing no one is there to fight except one or two people. Never was like that. Making money was alot easier for crafters and Docs because they truely had a purpose. And to be truthfull i think if pre-cu would have stuck around with JTL Space would have been alot huger. But hay that is just my thought. Hell entertains had a huge purpose to and where fun to watch. Now i will say that in pre-cu they should have done something about the AFK grinding, they should have found a way to stop it. Cause that is one thing i can truely say i never AFKed grinded. I was always at my keyboard. But as far as the core of the game they should have left it alone and SWG would not be a ghost town now. And thanks Dark. Sorry yall /rambling off.

So i'll just say, I agree.
