lol, Here's hoping it is more like 3 years. Seriously...I don't need this coming out while I'm still in college. I don't want to find out what it'll do to my grades!!!! /scared As excited as I am for this to come out, I can so wait. I can spend 3-4 years lurking on their forums, thank you very much. But I'm afraid your estimate is likely more accurate. I doubt they'd announce it and make a big fuss yet if they didn't think they could at least hit beta in 2 years. With a beta I think I could control myself and still study, though. So I'd like to get into a beta...but if the game launches in a year or two I'm gonna be pissed....and elated...all at the same time.  Edit: Also, a part of me is disappointed they aren't doing a KOTOR3 instead. A MMO is great and all, but I have my doubts that they'll be able to pull off the same quality and depth of storytelling they do in their singleplayer games. They say they can and they will, and that it'll be even better, but that is marketing. I just don't see how they can. The game don't be centered around you, the player. It'll be centered around you, the player, and thousands upon thousands of other players too. Only so much depth and epic-ness you can have there without it feeling extremely fake, orchestrated, instanced, ... MMO-y. Saving a damsel in distress, for example, just isn't the same when she respawns 2 minutes later just as distressed as before and you watch as some other Jedi named Luuuke Skyywalkeeer comes and rescues her like you just did. That's why I loved KOTOR1 and 2, and that's why I want a KOTOR3 along with this MMO. I want both! Call me greedy. |

Very exciting indeed.
Perhaps this would jump start my MMORPG addiction since swg.

I am not that excited yet, I will be keeping a close eye on it. and hope to beta test it. then I will let you know where i stand.

I've been busy with school. Really busy. If this keeps up, I may not even have time to play the new Star Wars MMO when it comes out.  /sigh |
