That sucks pei, its never easy to do that as they are family. I think when that comment was made you weren't left out on purpose it just happened. I'll agree with this also. Everyone recognizes the hard work you put into RSF. You kept it alive. Kin probably didn't list your name because it was a long list, and even with your name it would not have been complete. It was just a quick answer to a complex question.
When it comes to same-faction bounty hunting, it gets tricky. Some people just don't care WHAT you do (me), others can't stand the very idea. When it comes down it, if you want to hunt anyone and everyone on the terms, doing what Oseh did with Flanora is the absolute best thing you could do. While that is so, it is also true that there is no decay, there is no xp loss, there is no punishment for dying save giving a droid your lunch money.
Grouping with a friend and then killing them while you're in the DWB and they have aggro is one thing. That is totally disrespecting the friendship. But walking around in mando with a Master Bounty Hunter tag on and attacking people who are not grouped with you or who are not your friend is another matter. Most people know to watch same-faction bh's. Most people know how the system SOE made works, and how it is intended to be used.
But in reality, aside from betraying a friend's trust if that were the case, what harm is being done by hunting same-faction people? Even if there were decay. What if I want to be a Rebel Pilot? What if I want to fly an x-wing? What if I want to wear Rebel armor? What if I just want to be a Rebel? I'm not going neutral. What if I pay $15 a month to play a game, and want the freedom to hunt whoever I want, whenever I want, just like my Star Wars icon: Boba Fett? Well I'm going to damn well do that too, and you can pay for my account if you want me to do different. Besides, how do you know an Imperial wouldn't have just killed the person a minute later anyway? Answer: you don't.
SWG is a game. All of you would acknowledge that fact. Yet few act like it. Pei is a good person. You may not agree with how he plays his games, but is that any reason to disrespect him? Why take what missions he does so personally? Is it even any of your business? Do you have any right to even begin to criticize his gameplay? If anything, everyone who disagrees with what he does should leave the guild, not him.
It's like being angry at someone for smoking in a smoking section. If you don't like it, leave. The section was put there for that purpose. The same applies to SWG, and saying it is any different is foolish. SOE made the system the way it is, and Rebels can and will take Rebel missions. It may not be respectful to their faction, and it may not reflect well on the guild, but why should we care? It's just a game. How many of you have berated our presidents? How many of you have called them names or even said how much you hate them? You've all done it, don't even begin to lie about it. How is doing that any better than killing same-faction bounties in a VIDEO GAME? Sure, it may be disrespectful and reflect badly on the guild, but is it any reason to not be friends with someone, to be infuriated with them and treat them poorly? When you make fun of your president (I've done it too, make no mistake), you make yourself look like an idiot. You reflect poorly on your own COUNTRY. Is this better than killing someone's avatar in a video game?
So my question is this, what gives any of us the right to judge Pei for what he does in a VIDEO GAME? I want you to think. Really think. Do you have that right? None of you do, and if you think you do, you are misguided. From one example that surely you all have done, as everyone likely has and if they haven't yet they someday will, it is shown that no, you do not have that right.
We're all guilty of this, even just in this game. I do this to Shoci. Because of the way he plays, I dislike him. I have no respect for him. I don't have the right to judge him, but I do. It's wrong. But in this case we are judging a friend. And that disgusts me more than anything Pei has done.
Each one of you have done things that are just as bad, if not worse, than what Pei has done. Things some of us would not agree with, but said nothing about. A very good example comes to mind. It's recent, it's about the bh system, and it involves one of Pei's accusers. Those are the reasons I am saying it.
Here's the example. Said person gets a big bounty on their head for killing Imperial players. They get on an alt and kill their main and collect the money for themself. That's funny, but low. Lower than what Pei does. Do you honestly think the people putting bounties on your head want YOU to have the money? And do you honestly think this is any better than killing same faction players fair and square? It's not.
You know who you are and I'm sure many other people know who I'm talking about too. But I also bet none of us care. I don't care that you do that. You pay for your account and I pay for mine. I think it's funny actually. I thought it was wrong while I was laughing at it, but I did not judge you. I kept the same respect I had for you.
But I also think it is no better than what Pei does. How many of us have done things like this? I think that it's unfair and poor character for us to be judging one person for one thing and leaving everyone else alone for what they do. With friends, it should be no one or everyone.
I think we all owe Peicubo an apology, that's what I think. That's my new official opinion on what should be done. Grovel at his feet and apologize, or don't call yourself his friend.
