I have played every game that I can find to push the limits of my graphics. WoW, SWG. every star wars game out there, Medal of Honor <all of them>, Splinter cell, you name i have played it. You should be playing Oblivion if you want to push the limits of your computer. Pump everything to the absolute max and see how it goes. If it runs smooth outside in that big forest, your pc is top notch! I'm sure yours would handle it flawlessly. But if you haven't, try that game. Then you can truly say you've put your computer through the gauntlet! I can't think of a better game to stress your system lol. And Oseh...I was hoping you wouldn't find that Vista pc rating thing lol. What does it know? Don't listen to a friggen poorly-coded software POS, listen to your heart! Do you love your computer? Do you? Reach out with your feeelings, young padawan, and hug your computer tight. It loves you too. =)

You should play Total War Medieval 2, Kin. I always wanted to play that game with better than low settings. /sigh
Well... at least I have a wii and 360.

I also don't understand why people are so crazy about apple now because the hardware inside is the same as a PC, now a few years ago they were different but not anymore. When you buy a mac now you are paying for a OS and thats about it. Sorry I don't want to pay 2-3 times more for a OS, and honestly vista is much more secure then XP ever was.
As to why WoW may look better, it all depends on the computer. On mine I have all settings maxed and sit on 75fps with no drops its steady and looks very nice. I just need to put vista on my tower and use the ram feature there.

I'll give Vista an honest try eventually. I keep hearing good things about it from you guys and terrible things about it from other people. But I'm more inclined to believe you guys. =)
As for apple, I agree. They are the same except for the OS. But some people love to be rogues. Or they just love to hate Microsoft lol. That is reason enough for them to get apple. haha Either that or they've always used it and always will. OR they want something new and different than the same ol' Microsoft.
I have to wonder what Microsoft did that is so great with Vista. Have they really made many new and revolutionary improvements that you'd think a company with so much money and manpower would? I've only seen it at a store on a show pc, and I suspect it may have been a watered down version...it wasn't much different than XP in looks. I dunno, I just thought they'd have done a lot more than they did. But again, I'm probably judging it too early.

I'll put it this way mobus, if you don't need to spend the cash on it to upgrade don't its not that much different then XP. I only have it because its on my laptop and the laptop came with a upgrade CD. It is good though don't let the MS haters tell you it sucks, very secure and runs game very well.

is the processor hurting me? If anything is, yes. That is the soft point on your pc I would say. You have a good amount of system memory, and your video card should be okay to play most games on medium settings with good framerates I would think. I could be wrong about that though, haven't payed much attention to Nvidia cards in while. I do know that it goes 6, 7, and then 8 series. So the card may be holding your pc's potential back a good deal as well, but I am hesitant to pass judgment on it because sometimes those little suckers will surprise you lol. And the same goes with processors, as well. Really what you want to use to gauge how good your system is your own gut, not what other people tell you. Even if you don't know much about computers. Because in the end, the only person your computer has to please is you. If it does, it is a good system. If it doesn't, upgrade that bitch. lol

www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=854&model2=721&chart=318If you want some statistics on the video card, here is a nice chart. Highlighted in blue is my card, the 8600, and yours, the 6800. Or at least as close as I could get to each given the options. As you can see, neither of ours is near the scores of the top-end bad boys. But I can tell you that mine is certainly more than enough for all I've thrown at it thus far. I was surprised at what it could handle. So far I haven't been able to make it sweat. You may have that same pleasure with yours as well, and I hope you do. There are cpu charts on that same site, which are also very interesting to look at. But you have to go back to the 2005 charts to see benchmarks of yours, which means you can't compare them to the newest cpu's. But while that cpu is probably a bit outdated, that doesn't mean it can't still kick ass.

Thanks Ehrgeiz, I'll keep that in mind. I hear it runs games a bit better, (when they run at all) which is always good! They'll work out the kinks eventually. The biggest thing Vista has going for it, I think, is dx10. Which will eventually force us pc gamers to upgrade to it in time, I would think.

Yeah, I really don't think Oseh's system is bad 'tall. Of course, it is hard to tell without actually being on it or having/been on recently a pc of similar specs. The only time you know if a pc is good or bad for sure is if a) its hardware is obviously recent high end stuff or b) its hardware is obviously old old crap lol. Yours is neither Oseh. So you tell us, how does it handle games? =)
