ok so I got window vista..(well actually my dad got a new computer and it came with it and he didnt want it so i used it)...blah blah blah....installed, everything is great...then yesterday...in the middle of fighting Malak on KOTOR, I get a popup message saying that my windows is not genuine....SO i type in the activation key that was sent with Vista...and it says "Invalid Product Key" and therefore locking me out of my computer...so I try calling Microsoft, I get Osama Bin Laden on the phone, he says hes gonna transfer me to the genuine advantage team or something of that sort.....*holding*....*click*..(Osama speaking again, in an outrageous Middle-eastern accent)..."Im sorry sir but they are closed on sundays you will have to call them tomorrow, heres the number 1-866 ... .... blah blah blah".....
So all in all, i guess someone pirated my key...any help here? Stupid Microsoft, if they tell me I have to buy a new copy...im gonna assassinate Bill Gates...
then im gonna get an Apple...lol
anyone got any ideas? lolol
Lots of hawt sweaty love.....

first off oseh if he got the computer from say staore that was pre-assembled, the O/S was not activated within the first 30 days. with vista it is different then with XP. But also even though you retyped the code in you may have not typed it in correctly. But you are not the first one to have this problem it is no big deal. first thing in the morning just call the number read them the product key and any other info they may ask, then they will submit a code to you for you to type in. and you will be good to go. But i think it is a new system in Vista to keep the software from being pirated. Trust me i have Vista and i even beta tested it for Microsoft. I love it. there is one feature on vista that alot of people dont know about. Say you have 2gigs of ram and you want more but your motherboard doesnt support anymore. No sweat!! Go get a 4 gig flash drive stick it in the USB port and then the O/S will ask if you want to use it as storage or as system ram. Click on the system ram and BOOOM instint speed up of the system. Also there is a feature that gives you a score of your hardware and software to let you know if you are useing the best type of stuff. Vista is real great i love it. It has better security and is alot more user freindly. Well there is my opinion in a nut shell. Need any more info just ask.

I love that ram feature too kin, just need to get 2gig in the system first. It only came with 1 in my lappytop. Put in a 2gig flash drive and my FPS jumped up big time in WoW.

It is a awesome feature. from what i understand they are looking at gettting rid of system ram on a motherboard all together and useing this new type system. They did say something to the affect that they will intergrate at least 128mb onto the motherboard and then just use flash drives. which if u ask me will be a hell of alot cheaper. hell $49.99 for a 4gig flash drive is so much better then $150.00 for a 2 gig ram stick.

Depends on the apple and the pc, Lez. The apples you've seen may indeed be way better than your pc. This is assuming you mean literally the way the game looks. If you mean the way using and playing on an apple vs a pc looks, then I can't say. I've wondered myself why some people are so nuts about apple computers. Maybe they are better/more fun/whatever. I mean, the fact that they don't use Windows is one huge plus right off the bat. haha But you probably mean the 2nd, because if memory serves you have a nice computer. But maybe your graphics card is, as Arnold would say, a girlyman. lol Oh and Oseh, I'm glad you got your Vista troubles worked out. I've been wanting to try Vista. I confess it has me curious, as much as I love to hate Microsoft. I'm waiting for them to work out some more of the kinks and for more dx10 games to come out first. I just got a dx10 video card to prepare for them.

ok Oseh first off just right click on "My Computer" , then just click on the blue highlighted "Windows Experience index". and bingo there you go.
Lez, It all depends on your hardware man. take my computer for example; Amd duel core 64bit 4800 Sata 10000rpm 250gig harddrive i have 2 Ati X1900 512mb ram crossfire <with crossfire i link both video cards together and use them as one. so together 1gig of ram on video alone.> 4gig DDR 4000 ram
that is the main parts that you need to worrie about. There is no true difference between Apple and PC. The only real difference is how they are made. Now as for software, if you have a ton of programs running and using up your memory it will cause problems with your video graphics. So the best thing to do is to shut everything that is not needed down. On my PC i keep 3 things running, Antiviruis, catalyst controller, and my sound controller. and that is it

LOL, Kin!!! My last card was an ATI. No complaints. However, when I went looking for an affordable yet powerful dx10 card, Nvidia answered the call, not ATI. =( My loyalties to companies shatter as soon as someone with a better deal comes along. haha 8)
