BioWare Making Star Wars MMORPG? [Uros "2Lions" Jojic] 02:09 pm EDT @ October 22nd, 2007 God how I wish this was true. I don't even care about the EA acquisition, I don't care about all the things I've said. I don't care about the comics I've made. Please let this be true. Primo Technology is claiming that a "source close to BioWare" told them the company's mysterious MMORPG is in fact set in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic universe. The game is being developed by the company’s Austin studio, formed in 2006 and headed by BioWare Creative Director James Ohlen, whose past credits include the first KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights, and Baldur Gate’s I and II. Expect the game sometime in 2009. Santa Clause, if you are out there, I still believe. You hear? I still believe! SOURCE: www.actiontrip.com

Um. Not good. If this is true, I'll have to drop out of college to play it full time! lol I hope it is true.
Now I'm going to go dream of a Star Wars MMO that doesn't suck.

Is this official?
It seems odd to me that BioWare and Lucas Arts would work together again. Lucas Arts supposedly wasn't happy that BioWare delayed the first Kotor close to 9 months and missed the Christmas sales rush. That's the reason Obsidian was called in to do the sequel. BioWare had a solid reputation and wasn't going to ruin that by releasing a half-finished game just to exploit Christmas sales. Obsidian being a brand new company when LA hired it had little choice in the matter, they were desperate for business.
I remember hearing this rumor when BioWare announced they were working on an unnamed MMO last year, thought it was wishful thinking back then and still do now.

I don't know. Bioware is making a MMORPG but they refuse to release the info of the game. Yet this rumour right now... makes sense and nothing is doubting this.
Heres hoping eh?
Assemble the RSF! We live again!
theoretically(sp) speaking.

Aye, I remember hearing about this a year ago. I think I was skeptical then, but I'm going to be more optimistic this time around. The thought of a new SW MMO made by a great company provides a rush that I like! But I won't let my hopes get up so high that I am surprised or terribly disappointed if it turns out not to be true. And that stuff about BioWare and Obsidian is something I did not know. There are so many great Star Wars games. Imagine how much better they could be if Lucas Arts wasn't so money hungry. Better than great is a good thing. KOTOR is one example of the quality more Star Wars games could have if they weren't rushed or viewed under an economist's eyeglass. I'd like to see how some of those masterpiece paintings of old would have turned out if those genius artists had to a) rush and b) take directions from someone who didn't know the first thing about painting. PS Hi Neg.

BioWare's Star Wars MMORPG A Reality? [Ure "Vader" Paul] 06:51 am EDT @ October 30th, 2007 This just in. LucasArts and BioWare reveal today that they signed an agreement to create an "interactive entertainment product." Keep your lightsabers sheathed. Nothing else was mentioned on the subject, I'm afraid. But, as every BioWare-obsessed geek on the planet probably knows by now, this news comes one week after the rumor that BioWare Austin is working on an MMOG set in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic universe. “LucasArts has a deep commitment to developing compelling stories and characters for the unique medium of interactive entertainment, and we have been searching for a developer that shares this value. We found this in BioWare,” said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. “Through our previous collaborations, we know that BioWare has an impressive ability to blend gripping stories with technological advancements, and we believe that our upcoming product will deliver an experience that will span the traditional boundaries of video game entertainment.” BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka also said that “BioWare’s mission is to deliver the best story and character-driven games in the world, delivering powerful emotional experiences to our fans.” No other official information was given at this time. More is expected to come on the web site LucasArtsBioWare.com. SOURCE: www.actiontrip.com

My optimism meter just went up a few (dozen) notches. Even if it isn't a SW MMO, it is going to be great! I <3 BioWare!
