When I first saw that video, all I could wonder is why it wasn't in with *this* gen of consoles. Nintendo should have pulled out all the stops. I refuse to believe they didn't know about this/think about doing this with the Wii. They chose not to. Since they didn't, Microsoft and Sony can, if they choose to, do it with their next gens - which, at least in Microsoft's case, could very likely come out before a new Nintendo console.
If that happens, Nintendo missed out on a good thing. Nintendo has to be the first to do those kinds of innovations now that they have dropped out of the graphics wars. If those other consoles start having Nintendo-esque revolutionary innovations along with the superior graphics, what reason then will there be to buy a Nintendo...other than lower price? Lower price alone just isn't enough if the gameplay experience is superior on the other consoles.
That guy in this video shows some other cool things on his website that can be done with the Wii. And there are other videos out there showing other cool things as well. Most are just nifty and neat, but some, like this head tracking, really should have been a part of the Wii's launch. Imagine playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption with head tracking.
Maybe it will be an expansion for future games. Or maybe the other consoles will stay away from motion sensing gameplay and Nintendo can get away with being lazy.
