Hi,
To follow up on Ank'Hara's idea, which was inspired by people at Dmaw, she tough it would be nice to organize practice duels on the roof of the guild hall. Many of us new Jedi have progressed very fast and did not get a chance to learn the different moves we have available to us, and how effective they are. Doing some PvP is great practice.
The advantage of the guild hall's roof is that, when the structure is changed to private, provide a save place to have duels where we can't be attacked by bounty hunters. Xaira and I discovered at our own expense that the structure is public, so just after a long duel, we got attacked while being completely out of force. We both were able to get out of the fight but it was pretty close. Anyways, point is that once the structure is private and that only RSF can enter it, it will be safe.
The drawback is that there is not enough room for kiting, if kiting is part of your PvP strategy. Nothing wrong with it obviously, just that the roof isn't big enough for that. We could do that outside but we lose the protection from BH attacks.
So, i'd like to know if some of you would be interested. We'd schedule this one evening a week and who ever feels like it can join in. It's the best way of learning your skills without the consequences of a BH loss. I've participated in such an event with people from dmaw (Naoma, ooobooba and donk) a few weeks back. I got my butt handed over to me every single time and lost every fight but i learned a LOT and just after an hour, I could see the difference.
Just learning basic stuff, like not to try and knockdown someone 5 seconds after they get up, it'll never work. How to use armorbreak as a timer to know when knockdown will be possible again. That running multiple macros can be good if you forget to call something, but that it can also kill you if you need to heal very quickly but a macro looped and is calling something you didn't need at that moment. Knowing your weapon, your foods, your debuff skills if you have them etc...
I think it would be fun and a great ocation to kick eachother's butts. Who's with me?
