Return of the Mobus: The Big Screen

Well, sort of! I made a video to precede my return to SWG! I think it's okay. The music is nice, the screenshots are good. It's just under 10 minutes long, so it's up to you what to make with that! The second half tries to flow with the music a little bit, but I was too lazy to go back and do the same with the first half. Not to mention doing that would have fudged up the flow of the second half!! I should also say that none of the pictures are from the NGE. I couldn't find any. I must have accidently deleted them with the SWG folder last time I quit. =( I lost a lot of screenies when my computer died a long time ago also, so I am left with screenshots that managed to survive between then and order 66, aka clearing space on my hard drive.

So anyway, watch it and hopefully enjoy it! I'm afraid I am not up to par with Oseh yet when it comes to directing, but I had fun making it. ;D

It's funny. I didn't resubscribe tonight because I didn't want to be up all night playing SWG...and yet I was up all night anyway making this!

Now if it would just finish uploading to fileplanet....

Pretty sure it was Anjon. I have a screenshot in there of you saying "Anjon is a respectable bh" I think. Some of us starting calling him names, so you set us straight. =P

That fight lasted over 30 minutes, and was by far the best jedi vs BH fight I have ever seen. And you've got to love the screenshots I have of you guys putting sabers straight up through a Krayt's jaw!

I'm trying!! I have been downloading the stuff for TC, and then can just paste it over to the main swg folder to get on Chilly. BUT, it has been downloading since last night and says it still has 6 hours left!!! I even got fed up and installed the data from the old SWG installation cd's and the JTL cd and then put it into the TC folder. That didn't save much time, but it helped a little. I think it will end up taking up more space now...

Anyway, does anyone know how I can speed this up? Last night it said it would be done at 5pm, but then I woke up and found the dl got interrupted. My internet must have went down last night. So now it will be done at 11pm if it stays at this speed. That's too long!

I have an account with DDO, got a beta invite two days after I canceled SWG, but haven't loged on in close to two months. Took a break to play Oblivion when that came out, but maybe a week or so later my grandmother had a stroke and died a few days later. That combined with other family matters and helping a friend start up a business pretty much stopped my gamming for a while.

Once I had time to play again I'd lost track of the people I knew in game, it doesn't take much time to hit max level so people moved on to either new characters or games. Since I've done most things there I'm not really motivated to start over. I'd probably cancel but turbine has a customer reward program which might get me into LOTRO beta, something I've been following for a while.

I do miss both flying and all of you people but I'm not sure if I want to throw down cash for SWG again especially since I'd probably have to reorder TOW to advance. As for shipwright I think I gave everything away. Some stuff was in my houses, I gave Kin and a couple others admin rights, but I assume the houses have disappeared by now and anything he didn't take is long gone.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I took it badly when my great grandmother died. Not at first, but then it just hit me. I know I used to drive you insane, but believe me when I say I hope you aren't taking it too hard. It's good to hear that you are helping a friend start up a business. Just having RL friends can be difficult with all these shiny mmorpgs just waiting to be played. =P

A Lord of the Rings mmorpg sounds really cool, but for some reason I get the feeling that it won't do well. I don't know why, but I just get that feeling. I get it with SWG too when I think of how old it is and how much SOE still has to do to make it as good of a game as it should be. That and other reasons, like SOE's inconsistency, out-right lying and apparent lack of care about their customers, makes me weary of going back also. I hate giving SOE my money. And make no mistake, it's my money now, not my parent's! I felt even worse about it when it wasn't my money though lol.

Even with its problems and history, I still enjoy the game, or did when I last played it. I don't enjoy it as much as I'd like to, and know I would if SOE didn't waste so much time, but I do still have a blast when I'm with a bunch of friends on there. And flying is always fun, provided you can find something other than gunboats to kill. Ideally that would be other players, Imps. Oseh says space pvp is happening on Chilly, which is awesome. When I last played, space pvp on Chilly was scarce. And ground pvp was a game of "gank and get ganked" in Theed. So I hope Oseh is right! However, everyone has a different definition of what a lot of pvp is.

Even with all the warnings that go up when I think of resubscribing, I think I'm gonna do it. If I make a character on Starsider and get them to master pilot, I know I'll at least be able to log in and reliably find space pvp. (according to the forums) And my buds on Chilastra seem to be having a lot of fun running around in underwear. I can't pass that up!

Well I have everything for TC installed and all it would take is a copy and paste to get on Chilly (I hope), but I want to play on TC first. Playing there may make me want to play Mobus more or it may make me not want to at all, so I'd like to get on TC before I give $15 to SOE. And yes, you can get on TC with a trial account. It rocks lol. I know it's not the live game and will be really buggy, but it's still a good way to tell if I will have fun or not, and an even better way to tell if I think SOE is going in the right direction with the future of the game. I'm suspicious about the expertise system.

But the problem is that TC is down right now. =( It's 10:53pm, so I don't know if it will be back up tonight. I wish I was able to play sooner!
